"Neonatal Nurses Day"

Updated: Sep 15, 2021

In honor of Neonatal Nurses Day, I wanted to reflect back on our 90 day stay in

the NICU at Edward Hospital.

During our stay, we had the pleasure of meeting a staff of amazing nurses and

doctors who cared for and loved Malcolm to health!

The positive energy, the words of encouragement, and gentleness we received

daily from the nurses, made our recurring visits more pleasant.

As challenging as it was to see our son and other babies in the NICU unit, the

nurses had a way of making sure we were truly comforted and accommodated. Our

questions were answered, food was provided, & we could even stay the night in

the hospital to feel a bit more connected to our baby. The nurses made sure we

knew the resources we had available.

I commend the neonatal nurses around the world, because without your help,

knowledge, expertise, added love & care, our babies would not flourish and

progress along the way. Although every circumstance is different, the love and

care never changes & the impact is truly felt.
